Thanks to my Renai friends, I was able to take the day off from rehearsal, for the first time this year. Because of that I had the chance to FINALLY go to the movies with my mother ... for the first time this year.
We had no big choice ... we could only go at 4pm and "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" was the only possible movie.
What can I say? I love pirate stories, so this movie has a little average on me. The duo of Johnny Depp and Geoffrey Rush is also excellent and yes, there are lots of beautiful, beautiful people in this movie. But that's basically it. The story is just WEIRD! No one told this director the magic of shortening. Everytime someone's running, fighting or jumping through the air, so it's all really hectic. Penelope Cruz, usually one of the most fiery women ever, pacts like she's thinking what to have for lunch. And finally, there's this weird side story about the love between a mermaid and this missionary, which was nothing but dispensable. Seriously, what was it for? To show some loving between a not-so-hot Orlando and a not-so-talented (but in my opinion VERY gorgeous) Keira? I don't even know their names.
Sadly, Johnny and Geoffrey are giving their best, but they just can't save this movie.
In conclusion, it's not bad, not good ... just quite alright ... but please no 5th Pirates of the Caribbean ...
